MDS Note Pads

MDS has so many uses beyond just digital scrapbooking. I used it to to make these cute, custom-designed, personalized notepads for my Instructional Specialist team at school. This is a very practical and easily created gift for someone.

I used the guides to mark off the halfway point on each side, then designed one note to fir in a quarter of the page. I grouped all the objects, then copied & pasted the note into the other quarters.

Here is what the file looked like in MDS before printing and cutting each page into fourths. This is one I designed for myself:

Die Cut Burlap with the Big Shot

What a phenominally gorgeous day we've had here in North Texas!! Temps have been low for August and the sun is shining in a light blue sky full of white, puffy clouds! It's one of those days when I can't help but feel so grateful to God & all He has provided!

Today's card share is also about being grateful. This little cutie was designed especially for a friend to say thanks for all the support she continually provides. I really believe a handmade, received by surprise in the mail is a fabulous way to thank someone and make them feel special.  Her card is in the mail & should be arriving at her house soon!
I used one of my new favorite stamp sets, Yippee-Skippee! It has some contemporary greetings that I can really relate to.  The stamp set is available as traditional stamps and also as a digital download for use in MDS or other software programs. Of course, I have both versions.

Die cutting burlap using the Stampin' Up! Big Shot:

The other little trick I used on this card, was to die cut regular old burlap from the fabric store with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits and the Big Shot. I laid a small piece of burlap down on waxed paper and generously painted it with Mod Podge. I hung it up to dry. When dry, it was extremely stiff and ready to cut! I just created my sandwich and rolled it through the Big Shot.

** TIP: I rolled it through 3 times before removing it, since I was working with a Framelit and wanted to make sure to get a complete cut. If you are using a Bigz die, once would be enough. ;) **

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:

Stamp Sets: Yippee-Skippee!
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
DSP: Midnight Muse Chevron from the 2012-14 In-Color DSP Stack
Accessories: Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tools: Stampin' Distress Tool, Essentials Stampin' Pierce Mat, Paper-Piercing Tool, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Big Shot

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you were able to find some inspiration!

Ever been to a Baby-Q?

Late post today. This week, I've been getting back into the swing of school year work hours. I've had two full days of training and I'm trying to get used to taking care of homefront business after work.

So here ya go....
Today I'm sharing an invitation I made for a friend using MDS. Once again, she shared several Pinterest ideas she liked, and showed me the parts she liked about each one. MDS made it so easy to create exactly what she was wanting.
So what do ya think? Pretty cute?
Stampin' Up!'s printing service prints these creations beautifully on the highest quality, thick cardstock, but you always have options. My friend chose to take the JPEG and have these printed as 5x7 photos at her favorite local photo developer. MDS is so versatile!

If you like this invitation, be sure to check out my previous posts with MDS-created invitations here:

And don't forget that you can try out MDS for free for 30 days! Ask me about the FREE introductory class I offer for purchasing the software from me. This can be done locally here in McKinney, Texas or as an online class.

One last thing... today is download day! Be sure to check out the latest MDS downloads Stampin' Up! released this week here in my store.
Thanks for visiting! See ya next time.
